Big Bang's highly-anticipated new single "Still Life" and its music video dropped Tuesday.

After being released just after midnight Monday, the song topped the charts of local music streaming platforms by Tuesday morning.

"Still Life" is slow-paced and melodic, setting itself apart from other songs by Big Bang which are mostly comprised of energetic hip-hop beats.

Members G-dragon and T.O.P participated in the lyrics of the song.

Its agency YG Entertainment said on Tuesday that the band "solely focused on the music" for its latest single and that the song "attempts to communicate with its fans on a deeper level with genuine sincerity."

“Still Life,” is the English title of the song. The Korean title can be translated to “Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter.”

Big Bang last released a digital single titled “Flower Road” in 2018 before going on an extensive hiatus due to the members' mandatory military services.

The upcoming release will be the first without ex-member Seungri, who left the band in 2019 after the Burning Sun scandal, an infamous sex, drugs and police protection scandal surrounding a nightclub of the same name.

T.O.P has also left YG Entertainment after his contract came to an end early this year, but still remains in the band and took part in making the recent release.

Big Bang debuted in 2006 with the album “Big Bang Vol. 1 – Since 2007.” The band later saw immense success with songs like “Lies” (2007), “Haru Haru” (2008), “Tonight” (2011), “Fantastic Baby” (2012) and “Bang Bang Bang” (2015).
