To celebrate International Jazz Day on April 30, production company Loudpigs announced Thursday that it has organized an afternoon filled with jazzy music for a global audience.

From noon on April 30, a free online concert titled “Soul of Seoul Celebrates International Jazz Day 2022” will introduce “equally amusing K-jazz and talented Korean jazz artists, along with ever-popular K-dramas and K-pop,” said Jackie Kwak, executive producer of Loudpigs.

Jazz artist Lee Ju-han of Winterplay and TV personality Lisa Kelly will host the show that will kick off with a concert pre-recorded at the Korea House in central Seoul. Lee will also perform a new piece he composed, titled “067 & 240,” which was inspired by the hit Netflix series “Squid Game.” Other artists participating in the concert include guitarist Park Joo-won, bassist Kang Hwan-su and accordionist Dave You, who will perform different variations of jazz music from traditional to fusion. Different artists will perform different pieces at various venues around Seoul during the 80-minute concert.

The online concert has been co-organized by Seoul Metropolitan City with support from the Korean National Commission for Unesco. Lee is the music director of the concert. It can be watched via Seoul Tourism Organization’s official YouTube channel, VisitSeoul TV.
