Kim Woo-jin, a former member of boy band Stray Kids, will be the first Korean to play a lead role in an HBO Max original series, according to 10x Entertainment on Monday. HBO Max is a global OTT (over-the-top) video streaming service.

스트레이키즈 출신 김우진이 한국인 최초로 HBO Max 오리지널 시리즈에서 주연을 맡게 되었다고 10x 엔터테인먼트가 18일 밝혔다. HBO Max는 글로벌 OTT 스트리밍 서비스이다.

Kim has been cast in the series “Além do Guarda-Roupa” (translated to ‘Beyond the Wardrobe’) set in São Paulo, Brazil. The series tells the story of a teenage girl who finds a teleporting portal in a closet and meets a K-pop idol in Seoul through the portal.

김우진은 브라질 상파울루가 배경이 되는 시리즈 ‘옷장 너머로’에서 주연을 맡게 되었다. 브라질 상파울루에 사는 평범한 10대 소녀가 옷장에서 우연히 신비로운 포털을 발견하고 이를 통해 서울에 사는 K팝 보이밴드를 만나게 되는 이야기를 다룬다.

Kim will play Kyung-min, a cranky member of fictional boy band Act. He will star alongside Brazilian actress Sharon Blanche, who is of Korean descent. “Além do Guarda-Roupa” will be released next year via HBO Max.

김우진은 K팝 보이밴드 Act의 까칠한 성격을 보유한 멤버 경민 역할로, 한국계 브라질 배우 샤론 블랑쉬와 함께 주연을 맡게 될 예정이다. ‘옷장 너머로’는 내년에 HBO Max를 통해 개봉 예정이다.

Kim debuted in 2018 as a member of Stray Kids and left the band in October of 2019. He debuted as a solo act in July 2021 with his single “Still Dream.”

한편 김우진은 보이밴드 스트레이키즈의 멤버로 2018년에 데뷔하여 2019년 10월에 탈퇴하였다. 그는 2021년 7월 싱글 ‘스틸 드림’을 기점으로 솔로 아티스트로 다시 데뷔했다.
