HYBE's 'BTS Island' game passes 1 million registrations before launch

K-pop powerhouse HYBE’s new mobile game “BTS Island: In the SEOM” surpassed more than 1 million registrations before its launch, the company said Friday.

The pre-registrations started Tuesday on both the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store.

The game, which is slated to launch on June 28, follows the animated characters of the members of BTS on a stranded island and allows users to decorate their own islands and play puzzle games.

The company has also been posting videos on YouTube of the how the BTS members took part in the production of the game.

HYBE has been active in releasing content, like games and webtoons, based on its artists’ intellectual property (IP). It has launched mobile games “Rhythm Hive,” “BTS World” and “BTS Universe Story.”
