Yerin of former group GFriend will make solo debut with EP 'Aria'

Yerin, a former member of girl group GFriend, is making a solo debut.

Yerin will drop her first solo EP “Aria” on May 18, Yerin’s agency Sublime Artist Agency announced Wednesday. Yerin revealed a couple of teaser images through her social media channels on Tuesday and Wednesday, hinting at her debut prior to the label’s official announcement. This will be Yerin’s first solo act since she debuted seven years ago.

A promotion schedule was also released Wednesday, which details the dates of teaser releases up until the official release. According to the schedule, Yerin will be releasing several concept photographs for the new EP starting Friday, a highlight medley of the songs in her album on May 16 and a music video teaser on May 17.

Yerin debuted with GFriend in 2015. The group announced in May last year that the girl group will disband as the members’ contracts with Source Music came to an end after six years together. GFriend debuted in 2015 and is best known for hits such as “Me Gustas Tu” (2015), “Rough” (2016), “Navillera” (2016) and “Fingertip” (2017).

Yerin signed with Sublime Artist Agency in June of last year. She is currently appearing as an M.C. in the third season of “Beauty Time,” a program about cosmetics on cable channel Lifetime.
