Netflix Korea announces cast for new original series 'Celebrity'

Netflix Korea announced the cast for its new original series “Celebrity” on Thursday.
 
“Actors Park Gyu-young, Kang Min-hyuk, Lee Chung-ah, Lee Dong-gun and Jun Hyo-seong have been cast for upcoming series ‘Celebrity,’” the streaming platform said.
 
The series revolves around the world of celebrities who are willing to do anything for fame and money.
 
Park will portray the lead role of Seo Ah-ri, whose life is turned upside down when she enters the world of celebrities. 
 
Kang will portray Ah-ri’s romantic interest Han Joon-kyung, the CEO of an influential cosmetic company called Han Cosmetic. Han is workaholic who becomes attracted to Ah-ri due to her unpredictability.
 
Lee Chung-ah will portray Yoon Shi-hyeon, the daughter of a powerful member of the National Assembly and wife to a lawyer at one of the most powerful law firms in the country. Her life begins to change when she meets Ah-ri.
 
Lee Dong-gun will portray Shi-hyeon’s husband Jin Tae-jun. He will do anything to achieve what he wants and he becomes suspicious of Ah-ri when she acts differently to what he’d anticipated.
 
Jun will portray Ah-ri’s childhood friend and rising influencer Oh Min-hye. She leads Ah-ri into the world of celebrities.
 
In a world where online popularity leads to money and power, rising celebrities are willing to do anything to increase their followers and increase their influence. 
 
Director Kim Cheol-gyu behind tvN drama series “Mother” (2018) and “Flower of Evil” (2020) and screenwriter Kim Yi-young behind MBC’s “Lee San” (2007-8), “Dong Yi” (2010) and “The King’s Doctor” (2012) will collaborate for the series.
