Girl group ITZY will drop a new EP titled “Checkmate” next month and is set to kick off its first world tour from August, according to JYP Entertainment Thursday.

“Checkmate” is set to drop at 1 p.m. on July 15. The EP comes 10 months after “Crazy In Love,” released in September 2021, which was ITZY’s first full-length album.

“The EP is veered toward capturing the taste of the Z generation with its distinct hipness and youthfulness, to strengthen the group’s position as the ‘iconic 4th generation K-pop girl group,’” the agency said.

ITZY debuted in February 2019 with “Dalla Dalla.” Its other songs include “Icy” (2019), “Wannabe” (2020), “Not Shy” (2020), “Mafia in the Morning” (2021) and “Loco” (2021).
