Thriller drama "The King of Pigs" has been invited to screen at the Fantasia Film Festival 2022 in Montreal, Canada.

It is the first Korean drama to be invited to the event.

Four episodes of the 12-part series will be streamed consecutively according to the show's production company Studio Dragon on Tuesday.

"The King of Pigs" is adapted from director Yeon Sang-ho’s 2011 animated feature film with the same title. It was released as a Tving original series in March.

The series revolves around a serial killer portrayed by Kim Dong-wook and a detective portrayed by Kim Sung-kyu who were both targets of school bullying as boys. The two reunite for the first time in 20 years as the serial killer sends a mysterious message to the detective which sends the detective off on a chase to catch him.

This year is the 26th edition of the Fantasia Film Festival, set to run from July 14 to Aug. 3.
