Chanty taking break from Lapillus to focus on her health

Rookie girl group Lapillus member Chanty will pause all her activities to focus on recovering her health, according to MLD Entertainment on Monday.

"Chanty has been in the hospital since the evening of July 16 where she was diagnosed with a high fever," said the agency in a statement. "Under the doctor's strict order to rest, Chanty will be concentrating on getting better."

Following the announcement, the group canceled its scheduled appearance on SBS’s “Inkigayo.”

The agency said that it will decide whether Chanty can return to the screen according to her health condition.

Chanty, whose real name is Chantal Videla, is a Filipina-Argentinian singer and actor. She debuted as a member of Lapillus on June 20 with the single title "Hit Ya!"

Lapillus is MLD’s first girl group to debut in six years, after Momoland. MLD Entertainment is also behind boy band T1419.
