Actor Jung Il-woo and Girls’ Generation’s Kwon Yuri are set to reunite to host the upcoming 2022 APAN Star Awards.

The Korea Entertainment Management Association, which organizes the annual event, said Friday it has invited the two actors to host the event because the two “show such good chemistry as partners on the small screen, as seen on last year’s historical drama series 'Bossam: Steal the Fate’ on MBN.”

The two actors are also set to play the leading roles on ENA’s series “Good Job!” that will begin airing from Aug. 24, taking over the place of “Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” which came to an end on Aug. 18.

The APAN Star Awards was established in 2012 to act as a platform to celebrate K-drama by gathering actors who have had a strong influence on hit drama series over the past year. This year’s event is the eighth edition. Last year’s event was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Previous winners of the Best Actor award include actors Son Hyun-joo, Song Hye-kyo, Zo In-sung, Kim Soo-hyun, Song Joong-ki, Lee Byung-hun and Hyun Bin.

This year’s event will deal with drama series that aired between March 2021 and July 2022.
