Wemade will donate $1 million worth of its Wemix cryptocurrency to Unicef every year for the next 100 years, the Korean game publisher said Monday.

The company signed an agreement with Unicef and Unicef Korea for the long-term sponsorship deal at the Unicef headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, on Friday. It was attended by Carla Haddad Mardini, director of Unicef’s private fundraising and partnerships division, Lee Ki-cheol, the secretary general of Unicef Korea, and Chang Hyun-guk, CEO of Wemade, took part in the ceremony.

The cryptocurrency will go to children’s education programs, such as Unicef’s Reimagine Education proejct and other children’s rights projects around the world, according to Wemade.

“The disparity in digital technology will have fatal impacts in children as they grow older and try to build their own future,” said Unicef Korea’s Lee. “We thank Wemade for the 100 years of social dedication and promise to support the company on our part, too.”

The Wemix cryptocurreny has lost about 90 percent of its value since hitting its peak late last year.
