NCSoft signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with George Mason University Korea to jointly research policies on games and digital medicine, the game publisher said Tuesday.

The game company and U.S. George Mason University will co-organize a symposium in November as a part of the MOU. Open competitions to raise social awareness in related fields will also be held.

The MOU was signed on Monday at the NCSoft R&D Center in Bundang, Gyeonggi, by George Mason’s president Gregory Washington, George Mason Korea’s Campus Dean Robert Matz and Ahn Yong-kyun, vice president and head of the communication center at NCSoft.

“We have been deeply moved by NCSoft’s efforts to spread the artistic value of games,” said Matz in a press release.

“We believe that George Mason University Korea and NCSoft will be able to create a great synergy in spreading the goodness of games through the MOU.”

NCSoft has been working with George Mason University Korea since last year when the school held the “Social Impact Digital Art Content” to raise awareness on social issues through digital artworks.
