Twice's upcoming EP 'Between1&2' passes 1 million in presales

Girl group Twice’s 11th EP “Between 1&2” surpassed 1 million units in presales, according to its agency JYP Entertainment on Thursday.

This is the highest number of presales of all the girl group’s EPs and albums, and the number is 300,000 higher than the presales for its third album, “Formula of Love : O＋T=＜3.”

“Formula of Love : O＋T=＜3” at one point ranked No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

The theme of the lead track of the upcoming EP, titled “Talk that Talk,” is retro, composed by local composer collapsedone, who has taken the helm of the group's previous hits “Knock Knock” (2017), “What is Love?” (2018) and “The Feels” (2021).

The EP is the group’s first new music since all nine members renewed their contracts with JYP Entertainment earlier this month.

“Between 1&2” drops at 1 p.m. Friday. Twice will host a live performance of the EP at 9 p.m. later that day through its YouTube channel.

Twice debuted with the EP “The Story Begins” (2015) with the lead song “Like Ooh-Ahh.” The group became widely popular with the song “Cheer Up” (2016) and has since released hits like “TT” (2016), “Feel Special” (2019) and “Alcohol-Free” (2021). The group's members are Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu.
