A spin-off of the film “Deliver Us from Evil” (2020) will be made into an over-the-top (OTT) series, its production companies Hive Media Corp and Artist Studio said Friday.

The series’ working title is “Ray,” named after one of the main characters in the action film.

Starring actors Hwang Jung-min, Lee Jung-jae and Park Jeong-min, “Deliver Us from Evil” follows In-nam, played by Hwang, a hitman who was planning to retire but gets tangled up in a new kidnapping case. He is chased by Ray, played by Lee, whose brother was assassinated by In-nam.

When the film came out in the summer of 2020, it attracted 4.35 million moviegoers.

“Ray” will focus on how Ray became a killer and the enemies he encounters.

Lee has been confirmed to play the lead role of Ray, but it has not been decided whether or not he will also take part in the series' production.

More information on “Ray,” including which OTT platform it will be on and its official title and cast, will be announced at a later date.
