Korea will drop its pre-departure Covid-19 test requirement from Sept. 3.
The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters announced in a virus response meeting on Wednesday that incoming travelers will no longer have to submit a negative Covid-19 test result when entering Korea. The rule will be applied from Saturday.
A rule requiring arriving passengers to undergo a PCR test within a day of arrival will remain in place in order to deal with virus variants coming in from overseas, the headquarters added.
