Local start-up Nestyle released Collery, a creation service for webtoon and web novel creators.
Using software, Collery provides three main functions for illustrators, web novelists and weboonists.
For illustrators, the service can edit an illustrator's existing work to recommend a new pattern or style. For web novelists, Collery provides storylines and characters for new authors. A computer painter helps webtoonists draw and color their characters.
Using blockchain, Collery also provides proof of copyright ownership. Creators get full ownership. The company will add new functions that will allow creators to make metaverse content.
"We hope to help creators protect their rights and pursue their creative works, while also making profit from their transactions," said Lee Yong-kyun, CEO of Nestyle, who also serves as a professor of computer science and engineering at Korea University.
"Artificial intelligence technology can not only inspire creators but also help make their work easier. It will provide issuance of copyright ownership using blockchain technology, while also serving as an assistant to the creators."
The company recently finished a series-A funding round, raising investment from companies including the Korea Technology Finance Corporation. The amount was not disclosed.
