The Hanwha Eagles on Wednesday signed free agent pitcher Lee Tae-yang on a four-year deal worth 2.5 billion won ($1.9 million).

Lee, who formerly played for the SSG Landers, will earn 1.7 billion won in annual salary with an 800 million won signing bonus.

Lee started out his professional career in the KBO with the Eagles in 2010 and played with the Hanwha club until June of 2020, when he left for the then SK Wyverns, now the SSG Landers.

He leaves the Landers after recording a 3.62 ERA with three losses, eight saves and one hold this season. He has a career 5.11 ERA.

"I am happy to come back to the Hanwha Eagles,” Lee said in a statement released by the club. "The squad has become so much younger since I left the club. I feel the responsibility but will enjoy the experience.”
