Prosecutors summon DP chief Lee Jae-myung for questioning

Prosecutors summoned Democratic Party (DP) chief Lee Jae-myung for questioning in relation to his alleged involvement in Seongnam FC sponsorship on Thursday.
Lee, who was mayor of Seongnam from 2010 to 2018, is accused of taking donations from companies including Doosan and Naver via the city’s football club, Seongnam FC.
The donations are suspected to be bribes as they came from companies that Seongnam city government allegedly relaxed development regulations for. Companies such as Doosan and Naver were granted permission to build their headquarters in Seongnam.
