Weverse saw 330 million posts from 53.9 million users in 245 nations in 2022, according to the fan platform’s year-end recap announced on Tuesday.

The report titled “2022 Weverse fandom trend” analyzed fandom trends and popular content that stood out this year.

Fan communities for 78 artists are currently serviced on Weverse. The platform added 44 new communities this year.

It added 17.9 million users to the platform this year, totaling approximately 53.9 million, including multiple accounts created by one person.

Around 330 million posts and 660 comments were made on the platform as of Dec. 14. Artists wrote over 300,000 of them to fans, a threefold increase from last year.

Hashtags like the 110,000 “I streamed [music]" and 100,000 “I voted [on award shows]” allowed fans and artists to communicate using keywords.

Weverse also launched its “Weverse Live” feature in July, which saw artists actively communicate with fans via 1,283 livestream sessions over the past five months. The sessions have garnered 396.5 million views.

The longest livestream was by BTS member Jin, who held a session for three hours and 23 minutes on Sept. 13. Member Theo of boy band P1Harmony and Roh Ji-sun of girl group fromis_9 also held 3-hour sessions.

As the user base for Weverse has been expanding, Weverse Fandom Lab, which analyzes statistics of fandom activities, chose “diversity” as the keyword for K-pop fandoms this year.

As most Covid-19 restrictions were lifted in Korea and around the world this year, the Weverse app also provided useful information for fans during in-person events, such as BTS’s Las Vegas and Busan concert. The app provided information on various BTS-themed venues around the city, venue maps, waiting times, merchandise pick-up and more. Over 2,078 users utilized Weverse during BTS’s in-person events.

Approximately 970,000 users applied through Weverse to attend autograph events and showcases.
