Girl group Blackpink [YG ENTERTAINMENT]

Blackpink will headline this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival, becoming the first-ever K-pop band to do so, this April.

The quartet will give two performances, one each on April 15 and 22, during the music festivity as the headlining artist among a lineup of outstanding global artists including Rosalia, boygenius, $uicideboy$ and Kid LAROI.

This year's Coachella will take place over two weekends from April 14 to 16 and 12 to 23 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

This will mark the second time for Blackpink to take part in Coachella, after becoming the first K-pop female act to perform at the festival in 2019.

The girl group is also set to headline the Hyde Park British Summer Time (BST) festival on July 2, the first K-pop act to do so.

Blackpink recently added four more concerts to the Asian leg of its ongoing world tour. The quartet will perform in the city of Kaohsiung in Taiwan on March 19, Singapore on May 14 and hold two concerts in Macao on May 20 and 21.

With the four new stops, Blackpink will hold 22 performances in 12 cities in Asia, including Bangkok, Hong Kong and Riyadh. The group's latest concerts were held on Saturday and Sunday at the National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Last year, Blackpink traveled around 14 cities in North America and Europe for 24 concerts. The group will have met with over 1.5 million fans around the globe when the tour finishes.
