Korea Basketball League side Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus have released American center Henry Sims to make room on their roster for American power forward Justin Knox, a seasoned KBL player the Phoebus released last year when he was unable to play due to injury.

Knox originally joined the Phoebus last October ahead of the 2022-23 season, but he missed multiple matches due to an ankle injury.

The Ulsan side eventually released Knox and signed Sims in an attempt to fill the vacancy left by the 34-year-old, but Sims also underperformed.

The 32-year-old American center played in 31 games but only managed an average of 3.7 points, leaving Phoebus no choice but to replace him with his predecessor.

Knox has not played for any other team since he was released by the Ulsan side, but is expected to see a far better performance on the court now that he has fully recovered from injury.

Knox played college basketball in the United States before signing with Den Helder Kings as a professional. He played in Malaysia, Puerto Rico and Italy before joining the KBL, initially with the Wonju DB Promy in 2019.

Knox will be ready to join the Phoebus squad on the court immediately as his work visa in Korea is still valid.

The Ulsan side sit in fourth place on the 10-team table with a winning rate 0.605 as of Tuesday.

Their next game is against the Changwon LG Sakers at Ulsan Dongchun Gymnasium in Ulsan on March 2.

That game, against the second place Changwon LG Sakers, will most likely be Knox’s second debut game for the Phoebus.
