Girl group Fifty Fifty became the fastest K-pop group to land on the Billboard Hot 100, the U.S. music service said Monday.
Having debuted only four months ago, Fifty Fifty also became the fifth K-pop girl group to ever land on the chart, after Wonder Girls, Twice, Blackpink and NewJeans.
The group's track “Cupid” landed in 100th place on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart.
Fifty Fifty — Keena, Saena, Sio and Aran — is a four-member girl group that debuted on Nov. 23 last year with its first EP, “The Fifty.” The girl group’s latest release, “The Beginning: Cupid” and the lead track “Cupid” garnered popularity among international fans of K-pop, landing at No.1 on Apple iTunes K-pop Chart on Feb. 27, three days after its release.
“Cupid” previously ranked No. 1 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart on March 11, followed by 106th on Billboard Global 200, 12th on Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 and 20th place on the Billboard Emerging Artists chart last week.
