Red Velvet will indefinitely postpone the girl group’s concert in Bangkok.
Wendy is in quarantine after testing positive for Covid-19 and Joy is taking a break from group activities.
“SM True deeply regrets and sincerely apologies to inform everyone regarding the postponement of ‘Red Velvet 4th Concert: R to V,” a statement from SM True, the joint-venture management company founded by SM Entertainment and True Corporation, a communications conglobate in Thailand, responsible for SM artists’ Thai management said on Thursday.
“Due to the artist’s health condition necessitating quarantine in accordance with the Covid-19 measures [...] as well as other factors [...], the concert has been postponed indefinitely,” the statement said, asking for fans to understand the circumstances.
The concert postponement notice did not specify details, but SM Entertainment released a statement Wednesday saying Wendy, who had tested positive for Covid-19, will be following the government’s guideline to self-quarantine at her residence, canceling her daily radio “Wendy’s Youngstreet” schedule.
Currently, anyone who tests positive for Covid-19 needs to undergo a seven-day quarantine.
Joy has been taking a break from group activities since April 26 due to her health.
Red Velvet has embarked on its fourth tour titled “R to V,” which kicked off with performances at the KSPO Dome in southern Seoul on April 2. Following performances in Japan and Singapore, the girl group was set to perform in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday, May 13 and Sunday, May 14, with future stops in Indonesia, France, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
