The latest entry in the “Transformers” movie franchise will be released first in cinemas around Korea on June 6, the film’s Korean distributor Lotte Entertainment said Thursday.

“Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” which will make its world premiere in Singapore on May 27, is set to release in the U.S. and around the world on June 9.

The film is the seventh installment in the Transformers movie franchise and the second film in the rebooted Transformer cinematic universe following “Bumblebee” (2018).

Inspired by Hasbro’s “Transformers: Beast Wars” comic and animated TV series franchise, the film features the familiar Autobots, including Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, alongside Maximal, descendants of the Autobots battling against Unicron, a planet-eating antagonist.

The film is set in New York City and Peru in 1994, seven years after “Bumblebee.”

Produced by Michael Bay, the director behind the original Transformer cinematic franchise and directed by Steven Caple Jr., best known for his 2018 film “Creed II,” the film features actors Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh and more.
