The National Police Agency summoned singer Lee Sun-hee for an investigation into her alleged embezzlement of company money Thursday, according to media reports.

The police suspect that Lee embezzled money from One Entertainment, which she founded in 2012, several times while serving as its CEO.

The police questioned Lee about whether she misappropriated company funds, such as by falsely listing employees on the payroll.

Lee has reportedly denied these allegations.

Lee debuted in 1984 with the song “To J,” winning the first prize in the MBC Riverside Song Festival. Her first album, “Ah! The Good Old Days,” was released in 1985. Since then, Lee has released critically and commercially successful albums in the 1980s and 90s and won the Golden Disc Awards for four straight years. Lee became the fourth Korean singer to perform at Carnegie Hall and received a Prime Minister’s Commendation in 2010. She is also known to have been a mentor to singer Lee Seung-gi.
