Singer Yena's music video for 'Hate Rodrigo' taken down two days after release

The music video of K-pop singer Yena, titled "Hate Rodrigo," got taken down from its YouTube channel just two days after its release.

The agency Yue Hua Entertainment has yet to comment on the music video's delisting, raising the fans' curiosity.

"Hate Rodrigo" is the lead track of Yena's second single "Hate XX" which dropped on Tuesday. The music video was uploaded on the distributing company Stone Music Entertainment's YouTube channel on the same day and was taken down on Thursday night.

The title of the song and its concept of "Hate Rodrigo" certainly created controversy even before its release because the K-pop singer seemed to refer to the American singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo. Yena is also dressed up as a teenage pop star in her music video, driving the same vehicle that Rodrigo drove on her 2021 debut single, "drivers license."

The song "Hate Rodrigo" is still available on music streaming services such as Melon, Spotify and Apple Music as of Friday.

Yena, during Tuesday's press showcase, said that "Hate Rodrigo" "shows the jealousy toward [her] wannabe and role model, in an unhateful Yena way," and added that "uses contradicting wordings to amplify the love and yearning toward that person."

Olivia Rodrigo is to drop "Vampire" on Friday, the lead single for her upcoming second full-length album "Guts," which will be released on Sept. 8.
