Infinite 'coming soon' after five-year break

Boy band Infinite will make a comeback on July 31 after a five-year-long break and hold their first concert, "Comeback Again," in seven years.

Two teaser images were uploaded Friday on the boy band's social media account announcing the news.

The first teaser image uploaded on the boy band's social media account on Friday showed the boy band's logo in the middle, with the words "Coming Soon" and "2023.07.31" written below it, with no further details.

The second teaser, released in the afternoon, announced the boy band's upcoming concert.

The boy band will perform first at the KSPO Dome in Songpa District, southern Seoul, on Aug. 19 and 20, followed by stops in Yokohama on Aug. 27, Taipei on Sept. 2 and Macau on Sept. 9.

Infinite uploaded a teaser in May, 13 years after the members uploaded their first video before their debut in 2010. The teaser video announced that the group will return for its 13th anniversary under the new agency Infinite Company.

Infinite Company is a newborn agency that plans to account just for the group activities of the six Infinite members, who have each signed with different companies after their contracts with Woollim Entertainment ended. Kim Sung-kyu as the president, supported by the other five members - Jang Dong-woo, Lee Sung-jong, Lee Sung-yeol, L and Nam Woo-hyun.

Infinite Company also received naming rights to the band's name Infinite from Woollim Entertainment. Media reported on Tuesday that the founder and president of Woollim Entertainment, Lee Jung-yeop had transferred the rights unconditionally, without any cost, to celebrate Kim Sung-kyu's birthday in April.

Infinite debuted in 2010 as a seven-member band. Member Hoya, whose real name is Lee Ho-won, left the band in 2017 after his exclusive contract expired. Infinite is known for its hit tracks "Be Mine" (2011), "Man In Love" (2013), "Bad" (2015) and "The Eye" (2016). The boy band's last release was its digital single "Clock," released in 2019. The six remaining members left Woollim Entertainment in 2022 following the expiration of their exclusive contracts with the agency.

Member Kim Sung-gyu recently dropped his fifth EP "2023 S/S Collection" on June 28, and other second-generation boy bands, including UKISS, Teen Top and SHINee that were active alongside Infinite, also released new albums in recent months.
