tvN's upcoming entertainment show "Ramyeon Kkondae Summer Camp" has been postponed indefinitely after webtoonist Joo Ho-min, one of its frequent guests, came under fire for filing a criminal complaint against his son's special education teacher for child abuse.
On Tuesday, the producers at tvN issued a statement announcing that the show's first episode, slated for Friday, has been canceled.
"'Ramyeon Kkondae Summer Camp' will not air on Aug. 4 as it was planned," the statement said. "It has been postponed indefinitely."
The incident surfaced late last month but took place in September 2022, when Joo's son reportedly assaulted his classmates and removed his clothes to expose himself to female peers.
Joo alleges the teacher has committed child abuse in dealing with the situation. He filed a criminal complaint against the teacher after he hid a recording device in his son's bag and recorded the teacher allegedly abusing his son.
"Ramyeon Kkondae Summer Camp" was set to star Joo along with fellow webtoon creators Kim Poong and Lee Mal-nyeon, YouTubers HeeBab, Pani Bottle and Kwak Joon-bin, better known by his YouTube channel KwakTube.
Joo has been facing criticism since the news broke.
Meanwhile, Joo appeared as a panel member on a pre-recorded episode of SBS's true crime show "Kkokkomu" as planned on July 27, after the news broke. SBS has been receiving complaints from viewers for airing the episode.
