Purple Kiss dropped its first single “Festa” on Tuesday, the girl group’s first foray into upbeat music.

“7HEAVEN,” the lead track of the single, is a pop-dance tune based on addictive punk beats, the girl group’s agency RBW said.

“Our new album conveys our message to ‘enjoy the festival’ with us,” Ireh said in a press release on Tuesday. “It’s for everyone who’s exhausted by the recurring daily lives. It’s also our first attempt at a refreshing concept, so I hope a lot of people get to enjoy our new single.”

Purple Kiss has been releasing albums with never-seen-before styles, ranging from “geek and nerd” concepts to “horror and high teen.”

The group’s last EP, “Cabin Fever,” released in February, had its members turn into witches.

“We’ve had a lot of discussions to come back with the album that our fans will really enjoy,” Yuki said. “I know our fans have waited for us for a long time, so we plan on showing a newer, better, prettier and cooler side of Purple Kiss.”

“Choreography in our lead track utilizes the movement of our hair to emphasize the refreshing nature of the song. To better suit this concept, I even changed my hairstyle from short to long,” Na Go-eun said.

Members Swan and Yuki have also been busy with solo activities, with Swan releasing her first solo single “Twenty” in July and Yuki joining cable network Mnet’s girl group competition show “Queendom Puzzle.”

Yuki, having landed third on “Queendom Puzzle,” also plans to debut as a member of project girl group EL7Z UP on Sept. 14.
