Convenience made smarter

GS25 opened its DX LAB Gasan Smart branch in southern Seoul on Thursday. The store relies entirely on AI technology, including entry access, customer service, product purchases, and payment processing, with no human intervention. Payments are automatically processed as customers exit with their chosen items, and overlooked promotional items are stored on the GS25 mobile app. Convenience store rivals such as CU, Emart24 and 7-Eleven are also operating AI-based, fully unmanned stores, while many of them are located in more enclosed or limited settings, often within their corporate headquarters. [GS RETAIL]
