Seventeen topped Korea's largest domestic streaming platform Melon's Top 100 chart for the first time for a boy band this year with its new song "God Of Music."
"God Of Music" is the lead track of Seventeen's latest and 11th EP "Seventeenth Heaven" released Monday. While boy bands have been seeing success with album sales and overseas performances, domestic music charts have been dominated by girl groups like NewJeans, (G)I-DLE and IVE.
"God Of Music" also topped the iTunes Top Song charts in 29 regions around the world, and the album debuted at No. 1 on Japan's iTunes Album chart and Line Music's now-hot albums chart.
The album sold over 3.28 million copies on its release date Monday. The band's last EP "FML" sold over 3.99 million copies on its release day, the first K-pop album to sell over 3 million copies in just one day.
Preorders for "Seventeenth Heaven" reached 5.2 million copies as of Monday, making it the most preordered K-pop album ever.
