The man who assaulted a woman working at a convenience store in Jinju, South Gyeongsang, on Saturday was arrested on Monday.

The man, in his 20s, was caught on charges of assault and destruction of property. A court issued an arrest warrant for him, citing concerns about escape, according to the Jinju Police Precinct.

The assailant punched and kicked the woman, also in her 20s, and reportedly said, "You must be a feminist, seeing that you have short hair ... feminists should be hit," saying he was a member of a group that advocates men's rights.

He also struck a customer in his 50s who tried to stop him, even using a chair in the store as a weapon.

The woman sustained sprains, ligament damage and ear injury. The customer reportedly had his shoulder, forehead and nose fractured.

The assailant was under the influence at the time of the attack, according to the police.

He said he "could not remember [anything] due to being drunk" during a police investigation.
