Yun Seog-dae, CEO of state-run water management agency K-water, has been appointed as the new chair of the Green Transformation Initiative (GTI) which urges the global community to contribute to carbon neutrality and respond to the climate crisis.

"As the new head of GTI, I will try to come up with various ways to build cooperation between state and private institutions in order to counter climate changes and push for green infrastructure business," Yun said.

"I will ask participating countries and institutions to actively take an interest and participate in the GTI."

GTI held a special general meeting on Dec. 10 at the Korean booth of the Conference of Parties at the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference being held in Dubai from Nov. 30. The special general meeting was participated in by ministers of seven countries including Indonesia, Uzbekistan, the Philippines and Bangladesh among others as well as international organizations and financial institutions.

K-water is participating in the conference in Dubai to discuss on carbon-neutral attempts in water resource management and ways to promote global cooperation on it.
