S-Oil donates $2.2 million to Community Chest of Korea

S-Oil donated 3 billion won ($2.2 million) to the Community Chest of Korea for underprivileged people and low-income households.  
 
The oil refiner delivered the donation under the Hope Sharing Campaign of the charity organization, which will be used for not only low-income households but also for programs to support social workers, volunteers and social welfare centers.

S-Oil's donations have continued every year since 2004, totaling some 25 billion won over the last 21 years.  
 
“We’ll keep reaching out to neighbors in need based on one of our core values, ‘sharing,' and strive to be good benefactors in our society," said S-Oil CEO Anwar Al-Hejazi.  
 
S-Oil in December also delivered 49.2 million won which was donated by their membership users. Around 10,000 customers make donations through app points when making payments for their gas.  
 
The company has been running the program since 2005 and a total of 80,000 people have donated a total of 300 million won so far.  
 
The donated money to youths helps them make a living as they no longer can receive financial support from day care centers as they have become legal adults.
