Korea start strong at table tennis team worlds

Korea beat Malaysia in a women's team match at the World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals Busan 2024 held at BEXCO Convention Centre in Busan on Saturday

Team Korea, consisting of Shin Yu-bin, Jeon Ji-hee and Lee Zi-on won the contest 3-0.

Shin and Jeon are Hangzhou Asian Games gold medalists, having claimed victory in the women’s table tennis doubles at the tournament together last year.

This year marks the very first time Korea has hosted the tournament since it began in 1926.

The World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals Busan 2024 started on Friday and runs through Feb. 25.
