Homegrown musical “Marie Curie” is heading to London’s West End this summer, according to its production company Live on Tuesday.

Marking the show’s English-language debut, it is set to play at the Charing Cross Theatre with previews starting June 1 and the official opening night on June 7. It is scheduled to run through July 28.

The musical follows the life of scientist Marie Sklodowska Curie and her journey to find a cure for cancer.

The London production is helmed by award-winning director Sarah Meadows, best known for the new musical “Ride.” The actors, who will also be locally cast, are yet to be announced.

The original Korean production premiered in 2020, with the book and lyrics by Chou See-un and music by Choi Jong-yoon.

It had short runs in Poland, Japan and China as well.

“From the very beginning, we've been working toward bringing this production overseas, and it received a positive response in Korea, Japan and Poland," Live CEO Kang Byung-won said in a statement Tuesday. "Our goal is to expand the beloved Korean work to resonate with audiences worldwide, transcending Asia."
