AKMU kicked off celebrations for the 10-year anniversary of the duo’s debut by announcing the official fan community name on Thursday.

“The name is a combination of AKMU and academy and means an organization that is the center of art,” the duo’s agency YG Entertainment said in a press release on the same day.

Memberships for Akkademy can be purchased at AKMU’s Weverse shop from Thursday until April 4.

Titled "AKMU 10th Anniversary Project," the celebrations will entail a variety of programs prepared as thanks to the fans who have loved and supported AKMU on their musical journey for 10 years, YG Entertainment said.
