Actor Youn Yuh-jung won an award at the 27th Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Supporting Role for her performance in "Minari" — a first for any Korean talent.

She is also the first Korean talent to be nominated for the Awards.

The film was nominated in two other categories as well, although neither won the award. Steven Yeun, one of the film's lead actors, was nominated for Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Film. The entire cast was also nominated for Outstanding Performance By A Cast In A Motion Picture.

“Minari” by director Lee Isaac Chung tells the story of a Korean immigrant family that moves to Arkansas to live out their version of the American dream.
