SSG.com, an e-commerce unit under local retail giant Shinsegae, is rolling out a Canada-themed campaign that offers discounts on a wide range of goods imported from the North American country in time for Canada Day, which falls on July 1.

Named “Happy Canada Week,” the campaign runs for two weeks, from Friday through July 11, SSG.com said Friday.

Up to 40 percent discounts will be offered on Canadian groceries, including meat and seafood products like lobster and surf clam, and up to 30 percent on Canada-made healthcare and pet products such as collagen and omega-3 supplements and pet brands Orijen, Now and Woof Concept.

Vacation packages to Canada are also offered at discounted prices.

Beef flavored with a maple syrup-based sauce developed in collaboration with the Canadian Embassy in Korea will also be on sale. Four beef cuts, including rib fingers and oyster blades marinated in the sauce, have been on sale since Friday.

Customers who buy over 70,000 won ($51) worth of groceries from the campaign will receive coupons for Canadian donut and coffee chain Tim Hortons.

"The Embassy of Canada and SSG.com are proud to partner again this year to launch the third Happy Canada Day promotion," Tamara Mawhinney, Canada’s ambassador to Korea, said through SSG.com's press release.

She added that she hoped Koreans could enjoy the healthy and delicious food and beverages produced in Canada's clean and pristine landscapes, available at SSG.com.
