Nongshim is opening pop-up stores themed around its flagship product, Shin Ramyun, at Carrefour stores in Paris from Monday.

The initiative is part of the ramyeon manufacturer's broader marketing efforts to establish a stronger presence in the European market.

Nongshim plans to expand its key products into major European retailers, including Lidl in Germany and the Salling Group in Denmark, later this year, the food and beverage manufacturer said Wednesday.

Additionally, Nongshim will host tasting events featuring its instant noodle products with Carrefour staff as part of its preparation for expanding into Southern and Eastern European countries where Carrefour operates.

The Paris pop-up stores will be set up in five Carrefour locations, including those near the main stadium for the Olympics and the Eiffel Tower.

From July 29 to Aug. 12, the pop-up booths will offer Nongshim’s products, host coupon events and allow customers to sample freshly cooked Shin Ramyun made on-site with instant noodle cookers.

“We have created a space for global tourists and locals in Paris to experience Shin Ramyun. We will continue to expand our presence in Europe through various marketing strategies,” said Lee Yong-jae, head of Nongshim’s international business division.

The ramyeon manufacturer started selling a wider variety of its instant noodle products and snacks in France through retailers E.Leclerc and Carrefour in May, and announced its intent to enter and expand its goods in Southwest and Northern Europe.
