Fifty Fifty's agency signs worldwide distribution deal with Sony Music Korea

Girl group Fifty Fifty’s agency Attrakt signed a worldwide distribution deal with Sony Music Entertainment Korea, the agency said Thursday.

“We signed a distribution deal with Sony Music Entertainment Korea on July 30,” said Attrakt. “The deal is for Fifty Fifty’s global album release set for Sept. 20.”

Sony Music Entertainment Korea will support Attrakt’s marketing campaigns and business development initiatives, according to the agency. Arista Records, Sony Music Entertainment’s U.S. subsidiary, will manage the marketing in the United States.

“We are so glad to have involved ourselves with Fifty Fifty and Attrakt,” said Bobby Ju, Managing Director of Sony Music Entertainment Korea. “This partnership is a pivotal moment in Sony Music's K-pop strategy, and I am confident that the combination of Fifty Fifty's incredible talent and our global influence will become a powerful force in the music industry.”

“We will establish a meticulous global marketing plan with Arista Records for the upcoming Fifty Fifty album, set to be released on Sept. 20,” said Oscar Chun. “Fifty Fifty will be fully supported so they can shoot for global charts such as the Billboard Hot 100. We ask for encouragement and attention for the sustainable growth of K-pop.”

Fifty Fifty debuted in November 2022 and earned success with its song “Cupid,” which reached No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart again. The girl group used to be a four-member group but three members — except for Keena — left the group last October after filing an injunction against their former agency Attrakt for alleged mistreatment in June.

Fifty Fifty will return with an almost entirely new lineup as a five-member girl group for its new EP.
