Girl group Fiestar has reunited to release a remake of its song on Saturday, which marks the 12th anniversary of its debut.

This will be the first time in six years that the group will release music since it disbanded.

The return of the group was announced on member Cao Lu’s YouTube Channel on Wednesday midnight. All five members of the group were present in the video.

“Although we still were seeing each other, I didn’t think making albums or practicing together would be possible,” said member Yel. “Cao Lu did a good job uniting us.”

“It was always my dream to make us come together,” Cao Lu said. The member said that she purchased back the rights to the girl group’s 2015 song “You’re pitiful” with money she made from e-commerce in China.

“I thought about buying an entirely new song, but there were some regrets about ‘You’re pitiful’,” said the member. Fiestar will release a remake of the song with a new arrangement.

The five-member group debuted in 2012 with its first single “Vista.” After putting out its digital single “Apple Pie” in 2016, Fiestar broke up in 2018 when all of its members terminated their contracts with the girl group’s agency at the time, FAVE Entertainment.
