More Galaxy users are now able to access Samsung’s latest AI features through a software update released in Korea on Thursday.

The electronics maker said Friday that the new Galaxy AI functions, previously available only on the Galaxy S24 series, are now offered to the S23 series, as well as the Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5 and Tab S9 series.

An array of features to enhance communication, productivity and creativity have been rolled out.

In terms of functionality in the update to improve communication, Interpreter mode offers real-time translation of dialogues in text. Composer mode enables users to input a few keywords, allowing the AI to generate a complete message based on the user’s nuance and tone. The Suggested Replies feature analyzes text messages between the user and the recipient to recommend appropriate responses.

For productivity, a new transcript feature has been added to the Note Assist function, which can create notes based on voice recordings, while PDF Overlay Translation can translate text, images and graphs in PDF files. The Sketch to Image feature allows users to convert simple sketches into high-quality images using AI.

In creativity, the Portrait Studio mode generates portraits in different styles, such as 3-D cartoon or watercolor, from a photograph. Additionally, the Instant Slo-mo function lets users slow down a video while maintaining smooth image quality.

The software update will be available in North America and Europe on Monday. Schedules for other regions will be announced in the coming weeks.
