The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Seoul announced Wednesday that it met with local government and university officials from North Jeolla during the Jeonbuk-Kazakhstan University Presidents' Forum, promising stronger ties.

The meeting, held in Jeonju, North Jeolla, between Sept. 25 and 27, discussed ways to attract more international students to North Jeolla universities and promote academic exchanges.

"This meeting will be a starting point for universities of both countries to work together for mutual development," said Kim Dae-sik, president of the Jeonbuk International Cooperation Agency, which hosted the event.
