GS Retail sponsors EAT STUDY LOVE Scholarship prize for international students

GS Retail is partnering with the Korea JoongAng Daily for the EAT STUDY LOVE Scholarship, a writing contest that invites international students to share their experiences of living in Korea.
The retailer, which is behind convenience store GS25, will sponsor the prize for the EAT STUDY LOVE Scholarship's October round.
The EAT STUDY LOVE Scholarship is a monthly writing contest hosted by K-campus, a platform for international students run by the Korea JoongAng Daily. Each month offers new topics for applicants to write about on K-campus, with the chance to win prize money.
Partnering with GS Retail, the October contest will focus on the topic of food.
Participants can choose to write about one of the following three topics: how foreigners recreate the taste of home in Korea, product recommendations from GS Retail's Real Price and YOUUS brands and meal prepping tips.
This month's contest will run between Oct. 1 and 20, and winners will be announced on Oct. 30. One first-place winner will be awarded 1 million won ($760), the second-place winner will get 500,000 won and five third-place winners will each get 100,000 won.
Through the partnership, GS Retail aims to offer support for international students settling down in Korea while promoting their brand to a global audience.
"By offering support to international students as part of our ESG initiatives, we aim to convey a positive brand image and lay the groundwork for GS25's global expansion," said Park Jun-hyung, marketing lead at GS Retail.
K-campus plans to host two more rounds of the EAT STUDY LOVE Scholarship in November and December.
