Stray Kids' Bang Chan celebrates birthday with 100 million won donation to Community Chest of Korea

Bang Chan of boy band Stray Kids donated 100 million won ($75,000) to the Community Chest of Korea to celebrate his birthday, his agency JYP Entertainment said Friday.
 
Bang Chan, who was born on Oct. 3, 1997, became a member of the honors society of the Community Chest of Korea with the donation. The money will go toward helping people with developmental issues and funding athletes with disabilities to train.

"I am grateful to be able to share the love that I have been given by the fans," Bang Chan said in a press release. "I hope that my small actions will reach secluded corners of society."
 
Stray Kids is set to perform at the American Music Awards on Sunday, becoming the second K-pop band to do so. It will release its second Japanese full-length album on Nov. 13.
