The Lions won the first game of this best-of-five series 10-4 on Sunday. The winner of this round will advance to the Korean Series against the top-seeded Kia Tigers, scheduled to begin next Monday in Gwangju.

Though this series has been pushed back by a day, it will not affect the Korean Series schedule if either the Lions or the Twins win the series in four games.

If they go the distance, then Game 1 of the Korean Series will be pushed back to Oct. 22.

The Lions will stick with their scheduled Game 2 starter, Won Tae-in, for Tuesday. Dietrich Enns was scheduled to start Monday, but the Twins' manager, Youm Kyoung-youb, said he will now go with left-hander Son Ju-young for Tuesday, with Enns' outing pushed back to later in the series.

During his pregame press conference held minutes before the postponement, the Lions' manager Park Jin-man said he hoped the game wouldn't be wiped out after getting under way because he didn't want to waste Won.

Youm, whose pregame presser began after the postponement, said the extra day off will benefit his team.

The Twins played a hard-fought, five-game series against the KT Wiz last week and had just one day of break before starting the new series against the Lions.

Enns started twice against the Wiz, and starter-turned-reliever Elieser Hernandez appeared in all five games. Hernandez did not pitch in Sunday's loss.

"We wanted a day off," Youm said. "Enns and Hernandez will get to rest a bit more. That will clearly help us."
