The Itaewon Global Village Center announced on Monday that it will host the "Living in Seoul" talk session, offering visa and legal information to foreigners living in the area.

The event will take place at the Itaewon Global Village Center in Yongsan District, central Seoul, on Nov. 9 and will consist of three sessions.

The center's director, Katherine Corteza, will lead the first session, covering the basics of living in Seoul, including banking, medical care and crime prevention.

Visa information will be provided in the second session, where an immigration agent will explain how foreigners on work visas, such as the E-1, E-2 and E-7, can transition to the F-2 long-term residency visa and the F-5 permanent residency visa. Information on Korean labor laws will be offered in the third session.

"At the Itaewon Global Village Center, we believe that information should be accessible to everyone, both local citizens and foreigners living away from their home countries," said Katherine Corteza, director of the Itaewon Global Village Center. "Because of the language barrier, accessing basic information can be daunting for many foreign residents in Korea, especially those who are new to the country.”

"This event aims to provide the right information from credible sources in just one sitting."

Those who wish to attend can register via the center's website.

The Itaewon Global Village Center is one of Seoul's seven Global Village Centers, created by the Seoul government to offer information to foreigners living in the area.
