Report alleges Seungri asked for prostitutes for his investorsWhile continuing investigations are looking into whether Burning Sun, a club in southern Seoul, had ties to the police, local news outlet SBS reported on Tuesday that Seungri of boy band Big Bang provided drugs and arranged escorts for investors years ago.
On Tuesday, SBS revealed text messages between Seungri and his business partners through chat app Kakao Talk that took place in December 2015.
“Give B [the anonymous investor] everything she wants. Get a hold of the main [rooms] 3 and 4 at the [club] Arena. We have guests from Taiwan,” wrote Seungri.
A man surnamed Kim responded, saying that he would look for girls to call and that he arranged seats at the club, to which a man surnamed Yu responded, “Be careful that B doesn’t get mixed with other people.”
B is a woman from Hong Kong, while the rest of her company was mostly men.
Yu is Seungri’s business partner, and together they founded their investment company Yuri Holdings in 2016, through which they established their restaurants, lounge bars and other businesses. It has been reported he is the husband of actor Park Han-byul.
When Kim reported back to the chat room, saying he would “take care [of everything],” Seungri asked, “And what about the girls? [Give them] the easy girls.”
Yu answered, “I’m getting the prostitutes ready, so if you get two prostitutes, then lead them to the hotel rooms. Two is good?”
SBS was unable to confirm whether any sexual bribery actually took place. But in April 2016, the anonymous B returned to Korea and attended Yuri Holdings’ first board meeting.
Following the report, YG Entertainment released a statement Tuesday.
“We have confirmed with [Seungri] himself that the report has been written with fabricated messages, and are thus not true. We repeat that we will be taking strong legal measures against the spread of vicious and false rumors.”
