Kim Jae-uck to play cynical priest in ‘Guest’

Actor Kim Jae-uck has been cast in OCN’s upcoming supernatural drama “The Guest.”

The drama will revolve around a psychic, a priest and a detective who try to find the mysterious force behind a series of crimes. The show combines the concepts of exorcism and shamanism.

Kim will play the role of a cold and cynical priest who performs exorcisms.

“The script was solid and a fun read so I thought I really wanted to be a part of this project,” said Kim. He added that he was happy working on a project with a subject rarely seen in Korean dramas.

Kim made his debut in 2002 with a minor role in the MBC drama “Do It Your Way,” but he made a name for himself in 2007 when he appeared on the popular MBC drama “The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince.” The actor has since taken on a wide spectrum of roles from a frightening villain in the OCN drama “Voice” (2017) to a man who goes to great lengths for love in the hit SBS series “Temperature of Love” (2017).

The new OCN series is expected to air in September.
